What is a hair growth cycle?
The human hair growth cycle consists of three phases: anagen, catagen, and telogen.

How to measure the growth phase
Measurement of the growth phase can be done with several methods. The most effective is done with a Trichogram. Through this method the Anagen/Telogen ratio can be assessed.
The anagen/telogen ratio (A/T ratio) measures the proportion of actively growing hairs (anagen phase) versus resting hairs (telogen phase). A normal hair growth cycle is indicated by an A/T ratio of 4 or higher. If the ratio is below 4, it suggests more hairs are in the telogen phase, leading to increased hair loss. Age and sex impact this ratio, with children having the highest ratio. Factors like hormones, stress, nutrition, and medical conditions can disrupt the hair cycle. While genetics play a significant role, there are ways to improve the anagen phase length, reduce hair loss, and enhance hair appearance.

Welcome to the 150-day study on the effectiveness of The Hair Growth Kit where the natural, active ingredient Capilia Longa™ has been studied for its hair restoration properties. This study focused its investigation on whether the daily application reduced hair loss as well as leaded to hair regeneration. Over the course of 150 days, Vyturus Laboratories have closely monitored and evaluated the progress of the participants.

All of the subjects had an A/T ratio below 4 and were showing signs of hair loss from different causes.

This study was single-center, with 2 intervention group that included 40 subjects in total with hair loss. The study was conducted according to the standard operating procedure of Centro de Tecnología Capilar, S.L. and in compliance with the regulations established in “Guía para investigaciones con seres humanos” (Guidelines for Research on Human Beings) and the guidelines of the Scientific
Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS).

Trichogram® (Anagen/telogen ratio)
A trichogram is a “snapshot” of the condition of the hair roots or bulbs, and therefore, of the scalp at a certain time.
It shows whether the treatment has had a positive effect on the hair bulbs and if it can prolong the growth phase/anagen and the hair loss phase/telogen postponed.

Trichoscan® (Hair count)
This is defined as the number of hairs present in a unit of area (0,25 cm2).
The number of hairs present by unit of area was calculated from images of the scalp taken with the TrichoScan® microcamera at day 0, day 90 and day 150.

Activation and repairing of the hair bulb
The photograph of the hair plucked for the trichogram confirmed the results by comparing the hair bulbs at the start and at the end of treatment (day 1 vs. day 150).

The two images show hair bulbs from the same subject in Group 1, who received treatment with the active ingredients. At Day 150, there is a noticeable increase in the mass of the hair matrix compared to Day 1.

During the telogen phase of hair growth, the hair appears narrow with a distal end that looks like a “paintbrush.” The hair mass can therefore not be anchored to the hair bulb.
After a duration of 150 days of treatment, observed results indicate an increase in hair mass, suggesting a strengthening of the hair’s attachment to the hair bulb.

Study conclusion
A comparative analysis of data collected on day 1 and day 150 from both the treatment and placebo groups revealed the following:
The treatment group demonstrated a statistically significant increase in the A/T (anagen/telogen) ratio, as compared to the placebo group. The treatment group exhibited a statistically significant increase in the percentage of hair in the anagen phase, as compared to the placebo group.
The treatment group showed a statistically significant increase in hair density at all control points, with the differences being statistically significant on day 150, as compared to the placebo group. On day 150, the treatment group demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in hair loss, as compared to the placebo group. Microscopic examination of regenerating hair bulbs showed more developed and extensive areas in the treatment group, indicating better anchorage to hair structures. No significant differences in root observations were noted in the placebo group.
