Private surgery, £1,000 to £30,000
The NHS says a hair transplant is not available on the NHS because it is cosmetic surgery. In the UK it can cost between £1,000 and £30,000, depending on the extent of hair loss, the procedure and the clinic.
Check the clinic and the surgeon
In England, independent clinics that provide cosmetic surgery must be registered with the Care Quality Commission. The NHS also advises checking that your surgeon is registered with the General Medical Council.

Judge it after about 6 months
Thuisarts, the Dutch GP information service, says it takes about 6 months to see whether a hair loss medicine works for you, and that the hair loss continues if you stop. Patience is part of every option, which is why we ask for 150 days with the CG routine.
Needs enough donor hair
Thuisarts explains that a transplant moves hair from the back of the head, so it only works if enough hair is left there, and you can still lose hair in other places afterwards. Plastic surgery for cosmetic reasons is not reimbursed by Dutch basic health insurance, so ask your insurer before you count on cover.

A self-pay decision
AOK explains that hereditary hair loss is not a disease, so a transplant is cosmetic surgery and not covered by statutory health insurance in Germany. Its advice is to compare several quotes and look at qualifications, not only price.
Available without a prescription
AOK notes that minoxidil solutions and foams are available without a prescription in Germany, and recommends telling your GP that you use one, especially if you have a heart or circulation condition.

Is the kit as strong as a transplant?
They do different jobs. A transplant moves follicles to places where there are none. Our kit works on the hair you still have.
Can I use it with minoxidil?
Yes. If you are already on minoxidil, we recommend running the kit alongside it.
We cannot guarantee results when you combine them. If a doctor prescribed minoxidil, mention the kit to them first.
Can I use it after a transplant?
Ask your surgeon first. One customer tells us they used it after theirs, but we have no study on that.
How long until I see anything?
Many users notice fine new hairs within 4 to 8 weeks, with more visible results around 10 to 12 weeks. We ask for 150 days before you judge.
What if it does not work for me?
